What to know
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is the reason most people come to this valley in winter. The aerial tram climbs 4,139 vertical feet in nine minutes and puts you at the top of Rendezvous Mountain, where the terrain ranges from genuinely frightening to perfectly gentle depending on which way you turn.
Our shuttle runs there every 30 minutes from 7 am to 6 pm through the winter. Ski hosts meet the first one. In summer the gondola runs to Rendezvous Lodge, which is the easiest way to start a high ridge walk without climbing 3,000 feet first.
The village itself has good coffee, a handful of restaurants and a bar that is loud from four until late. It is worth one evening, and most of our guests prefer to eat at the lodge the rest of the week.
