Pine Lodge Room

The room

Our smallest room is still 340 square feet of hand-planed pine, with a king bed under a wool blanket woven in Buffalo, Wyoming, and a window that frames the aspen grove behind the lodge.

Twelve Pine Lodge Rooms sit along the second floor of the original 1968 building. They keep the details that made guests come back for three generations: board walls the colour of honey, a writing desk under the window, and a heavy door that closes with a satisfying thud.

Everything that should be modern is. The bathroom was rebuilt in 2023 with a soaking tub, a rainfall shower and heated slate under your feet, which matters when you come in off the hill at four in the afternoon. The bed is a custom 13-inch mattress, and the blackout curtains actually black out, so a bright Wyoming morning stays outside until you are ready for it.

The room has no balcony, which is the only reason it is the lodge's most affordable key. Guests who stay here tend to spend their evenings by the great room fire anyway.
